Corvus, die Gattung der Raben und Krähen sind nahezu weltweit verbreitet. Der Film stellt den Körperbau, die Lebensgewohnheiten und den Lebensraum ausführlich vor. Raben und Krähen haben ein verhältnismäßig großes Gehirn und sind sehr intelligent. Sie führen untereinander eine komplexe Kommunikation, die sowohl Kooperation als auch gegenseitige Täuschung beinhaltet. Raben sind, anders als ihnen sprichwörtlich nachgesagt wird, sehr fürsorgliche Eltern. Die Jungen werden von Männchen und Weibchen, die einander lebenslang treu bleiben, versorgt.
