Der Film zeigt und vergleicht die Gelege unterschiedlicher Vogelarten in ihrer Form, Aussehen und ihrer Funktion im Ökosystem. Des Weiteren beschreibt er die Wirkstoffe der im Ei enthaltenen Proteine, Mineralien und Vitamine in seiner Funktion als Nahrungsmittel für den Menschen. Interaktive Module, Testfragen und ein Glossar ergänzen den Film und die dazugehörigen Arbeitsblätter.
