Höhlen sind Hohlräume unter der Erde und bilden sich, im Gegensatz zu Grotten, auf natürliche Weise. Der Film ist beschreibt detailliert die Entstehung, Typen und die Beschaffenheit von Höhlen. Er unterscheidet Höhlenarten wie Halb-, Primär- und Sekundärhöhlen und bezeichnet Riff-, Lava- und Laughöhlen. Dargestellt wird die Entstehung des Karsts und die damit verbundenen chemischen Vorgänge und die Bildung von Tropfsteinen. Die Lernenden erfahren, welche Pflanzen und Tiere im kargen Umfeld der Höhlen lebensfähig sind. Interaktive Aufgaben, Testfragen und Glossar wurden mit H5P erstellt und können ohne weitere Software verwendet werden.
