Von der Approbationsordnung für Apotheker bis hin zum Zerlegungsgesetz – in Deutschland wird fast alles durch Gesetze und Verordnungen geregelt. Kein Wunder, dass es in der Bundesrepublik über 1.900 Gesetze und mehr als 3.400 Verordnungen gibt. Diese unterteilen sich in 76.382 Artikel und Paragrafen. Wer kann da noch den Überblick behalten? Und sind alle Regelungen wirklich sinnvoll? Das finden Joey Grit Winkler und Fero Andersen für "Schau dich schlau!" heraus und entdecken dabei so manche Kuriosität. Nicht nur die juristische Fachsprache ist für Laien verwirrend, die Inhalte der Gesetze werfen oft Fragen nach ihrem Sinn auf. In der Verfassung von Hessen existiert sogar noch die Todesstrafe. Doch da diese im Grundgesetz abgeschafft wurde, ist das Gesetz glücklicherweise ungültig. "Schau dich schlau!" wirft auch einen Blick auf die populärsten Rechtsirrtümer. Diese passieren nicht nur im großen Stil, sondern begegnen uns tagtäglich beim Einkaufen, Zuhause oder im Büro. Besonders beliebt ist in Kaufhäusern der Hinweise "Reduzierte Ware ist vom Umtausch ausgeschlossen". Stopp, sagen die Gesetzgeber. Wenn die Ware mangelhaft, darf der Kunde das reklamieren, auch bei Sonderangeboten.

Reconciliation instead of Judgement
The Criminal Code says: »Whosoever physically assaults another person is punished.« But the Criminal Code also says: »If the offender in an effort to achieve reconciliation with the victim (Victim-Offender-Mediation) has made full restitution for his offence, the court may mitigate the sentence or, unless the sentence is imprisonment of more than one year, may order a discharge.« The Youth Courts Law says:»The public prosecutor shall dispense with prosecution«, that means he does not bring charges and the matter does not go to court when the youth is ready »to achieve a settlement with the aggrieved person.«

Remembrance or Oblivion
The DVD provides an overview of the setting up of the concentration camps in the vicinity of Mühldorf on the Inn. Thousands of prisoners worked there from 1944 up to the end of World War II, building an arms bunker. It was planned as a production site for a jet plane that – as a wonder weapon – was believed to bring about the decisive turn-around in the war. The camp of Mettenheim and Forest Camp V were orga- nisationally linked to the main camp of Dachau as additional camps. The arms bunker was never completed, but blown up after the end of the war and now, as a ruin, reminds us of the „extermination through work“ associated with its construction. With the example of Mühldorf, the film documents how we can obtain information today on a long ignored part of our his- tory, how we can build memorials and remember the victims in a dignified way. Contemporary witnesses emphasise how important it is for the future to remember National Socialism. Our young people, who grow up in times of an ever-increas- ing temporal distance to the holocaust, must be warned against letting something similar happen again.

The skeletons are proof that reptiles were not confined to life on land but were also adapted to water and the air. The typical common characteristics of reptiles, such as the coat of scales and a poikilothermic body temperature, as well as the extremely different appearances of poisonous snakes and constrictors, turtles, lizards and crocodiles are discussed in detail. The different methods of finding food both as a herbivore or as an ambush predator with the use of poison or with the help of a pit organ are shown. The “invention” of the amnion made the reptiles’ reproduction independent from water and enab- led them to lay their eggs on land.
