Genetics
Introduction to Genetic Theory
Genetics means something like genealogy, origin and, in contemporary terminology, also the study of inheritance.
It deals with the principles and material foundations of the formation of hereditary traits. A further field of research is inheritance, that is the passing of hereditary information (genes) to the next generation.
A pioneer of present-day genetics is the Augustinian monk Gregor Mendel.
